    Passing in the PDS?

Post by therhino on Tue Feb 09, 2010 3:41 pm

I've been making some 8-man plays and I've had little trouble with the running plays, but passing plays seem dang near impossible. I've tried to start by looking at the original plays and some of Gary's and some of them just have the QB "Move To" "Next Point" for the drop back, and he drops back and passes. My problem is I can't get the QB to drop back and pass, whenever I use the "Drop Back" or "Move To" commands he executes them and proceeds to run. If I were creating a playbook for Mike Vick that might work, but how do I get the guy to just make read passes. I've tried to add the "Pass" "Read" command, but then he won't drop back, he will just throw it. Also why do some of the plays work without having the WR "Look For Pass" and some of them don't even tell the QB to Pass, but he does anyway. Any advice would be great Smile

Found the solution on the official forum, I'm an idiot for not realizing it sooner: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

EDIT: Still not working for me, where is the "Red Square" I'm supposed to click?

EDIT 2.0: I award myself the forum idiot award, that was way too basic, I think I should have gotten some more sleep before I started this Very Happy

1.) make sure the play is set-up as a "PASS" not "RUN"
2.) QB - 5 to 7 yard drop, use "PASS" on final command point
**lower left side of PDS screen states READ - select what order you want QB to read receivers **use the "+" button to add receievers
3.) WR - have them "look for pass" then "move to"

let me know if that helps. i can be more detailed if need be. you can always look at one of my pass plays and see how i set it up.

Thanks Hack, but I was able to figure it out. I hadn't used the PDS in about six months and I forgot that each command point had to be edited, I was just changing the first one. Thanks for the help though.

    Gah!

This was so simple it was complicated beyond belief.I spent the last few hours trying to figure out what you guys were talking about with red squares because i was having the same problem...and i finally got it.

You click the blue dots to progress the play:

So it would be something like Drop back, select route, right click, click on blue dot to bring up the next set of logic commands, then Pass-Read in the new command box.

Not Click on player, drop back(or move to),select route, then Pass-Read all in the same logic command box.
