*************I would advise against using Truespace 7 to work with the objects.....use Gamespace Light*********************
Since there are a lot of similarities between them, the manuals for TS7 will still help you learn Gamespace, but when I spent more time with them, TS7
would do some strange things to the objects. So I would recommend using Gamespace to move them around,
Well, a few things to begin with. Caligari released their final version of Truespace, ver 7.6, when they were shutdown by Microsoft. They released it free, with manuals and tutorials. It can still be found and downloaded from the internet. It has a feature that makes it backward compatible with Truespace 6.5 stuff, which is what David used for MaxFB. So far, I have been able to build a couple models in Blender, load them in Truespace 7, and then save them as directX files and have them show up on the field in game. Yay!!
Next step, will be to texture them and make sure that they show up in game, properly textured. I will start tinkering with that tonite. If all goes well, I will start building objects.
The benefit of the above, using TS7 instead of Gamespace Light, is that TS7 is a fully featured 3D program with no restrictions on the size of the model. And I also have all the manuals and stuff, whereas I seem to have not kept the stuff I had for Gamespace.
Below is a pic of the 2 models I imported via TS7. Just quickies, so ignore the quality, and size issue.
